Terms
The short version
Held in Common™ ("Commons" for short) is in early testing (beta), and it's free for now. Your content stays yours. Be decent. We'll do our best, but Commons comes without guarantees.
Your content
Everything you put in Commons is yours. You give us permission to store it, to copy it between our providers, and to show it to the people in your space and to the AIs you connect. We use that permission only to run Commons. Share only what you have the right to share, and that includes information about other people.
Using it well
Don't use Commons to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, to store other people's private information without their permission, or to attack or overload the service. If an account does any of these, we may pause or close it.
Your account
Your email is your sign-in, so keep access to it safe. You're responsible for what's done from your account, including what the AIs you connect do on your behalf.
Beta, as-is
Commons is provided as it is while we're still building it. It may change, pause, or lose features. Every space is kept on GitHub as well as on our server, but we can't promise nothing will ever be lost. Download a copy of anything important.
Limits
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us for Commons in the past 12 months, which right now is $0.
Ending
You can stop using Commons and delete your spaces at any time. We can end the beta with reasonable notice, and you'll have time to download your spaces first.
Law
Hawaiʻi law governs these terms.
